oman's Missionary UnionWe seek to teach missions as well as go on missions for Christ in our community.
Our meetings are held in the fellowship hall at 11:30 am on the 2nd Thursday of each month.
Live It…Together is the focus of WMU of Virginia which encourages Virginia Baptists to connect as they live out Christ’s call.
John 17 records the prayer of Jesus for the disciples prior to his crucifixion. In the verse preceding the theme verse, he states that he is praying for all who will become believers because of the message of the disciples who surround him at the moment. It then follows that the wish he expresses, that we should “be one with each other,” applies to us.
In verse 23 of the same chapter Jesus gives the reason for our unity: “that the world may know that you sent me and that you love them as you love me.” That’s a worthy reason to Live It…Together.
Following the call of Jesus to ministry in his name becomes a joyful experience when we are working together. Each of us in our own part of the Kingdom becomes aware of what it means to live the call as our eyes see needs and our hearts feel God’s Spirit encouraging us to meet those needs.
Live It…Together means that we don’t have to “go it alone.” It means that we depend on each other, we support each other, and we are resources for each other. We are indeed partners. The load is lighter and the joy is multiplied when we are working together.
